“Internet of Objects” examined at Near East University

A seminar on İnternet of Objects was held in collaboration with the Near East University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Computer Information Systems and the Information Systems and Technologies Research Center of the Center of Excellence.

Head of Computer Informatics Department Prof. Dr. Nadire Çavuş and Telecommunication Engineer Hilmi Kansu, owner of ComTech company, participated as speakers at the seminar where the main elements of the Internet of Objects and their main areas of use were examined.

According to the information provided by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Nadire Çavuş speaking at the opening of the seminar mentioned that especially in recent years, as a result of the rapid changes and developments in the Internet of Objects sector, the demand for this field has increased day by day, and the human life has been made easier through the Internet of Objects technology by using systems such as the smart classes, smart campus, smart city, smart systems. Prof. Dr. Çavuş also shared with students the historical development of the so-called Internet of Objects technology. She also touched upon the main elements that make up the Internet of Objects.

Telecommunication Engineer Hilmi Kansu, owner of ComTech company, states that IT and Telecom sector is an extremely popular, rapidly changing and developing field of our age, and the objects, also known as IoT, communicate and connect with each other through various communication protocols and formed an intelligent network by sharing information with each other. In addition, Kansu said that it is wrong to understand that objects are simply connected to the internet when the internet is mentioned about, and that RFID-like sensors and identifiers produce information with certain devices. Kansu also touched upon the basic technical issues of the IoT Board and said that in the near future there will be a period in which interaction and the internet will be involved in almost every object and different objects will act for common purposes.

At the end of the seminar, Head of Computer Informatics Department and Director of Computer Information Systems Research and Technology Center (BESATEM) Prof. Dr. Nadire Çavuş gave a plaque of appreciation to the invited speaker Hilmi Kansu.
