The International Conference on Application of Fuzzy Systems and Soft Computing, ICAFS-2016, is being held in Vienna between 29-30 August 2016 with participation of over 100 scientist from universities in Japan, the USA, Germany, Russia, Poland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Austria, Azerbaijan, Canada, the Czech Republic, Italy, Finland, France, Georgia, Uzbekistan, China, India, Mexico, Latvia, Romania, and TRNC.

According to a press statement released by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Fahreddin SADIKOĞLU, Vice Rector of NEU and Chairman of Organizing Committee of the ICAFS-2016, pointed out that all the accepted papers would be published in the Elsevier's Procedia Computer Science Open access Journal indexed in Scopus and Science Direct, a highly recognized platform, where conference papers can be hosted and accessed by millions of researchers. Prof. Dr. SADIKOĞLU added that selected papers would be considered for possible publication in SCI journals such as Information Sciences journal, the Soft Computing Journal, Artificial Intelligence in Medicine journal, and International Journal of Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing.

The Conference is being realized with the participation of almost 100 scientists from the universities and associations from 24 different countries situated in Asia, Europe and America continents. Alongside Near East University from TRNC, University of Toronto and University of Alberta from Canada, Georgia State University and University of Texas from the USA, University of Siegen from Germany, TOBB Economics and Technology University from Turkey, BISC-Berkeley Initiative in Soft Computing Association from the USA, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and Association of Zadeh's Legacy and Artificial Intelligence from Azerbaijan are taking part in the Organizing Committee of ICAFS 2016.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. SADIKOĞLU extended his appreciations to the participants by underlining that the sessions would focus on the application of methods concerning Fuzzy Logic and Soft Computing in earth sciences, Soft Computing in industrial engineering, Decision Theory with Imperfect Information, Neuro-Fuzzy Technology, Soft Computing in finance, business and economics and educational sciences, Soft Computing in medicine and biomedical engineering, Fuzzy and Soft Computing Based Control Systems, Soft Computing for System of Systems Engineering, Granular Computing, Evolutionary Computation and other technologies relevant to the applications of Fuzzy and Soft Computing. Stating that world’s leading scientists were taking part in the Program Committee and Organizing Committee of ICAFS 2016, he drew attention to the crucial role of conference in contributing to the world of science.
