Applications to the “Inter-High School Environmental Competition” organized by Özay Günsel Children’s University with the support of Near East University and GÜNSEL can be made until 19 May.

The world population, which has grown exponentially in the last hundred years, and the destruction caused by industrialization on the environment stand out as one of the most important problems of the present day. The continuation of global climate changes also shows that environmental problems will continue to be one of the most important problems of the world in the future.

Having the support of Özay Günsel Children’s University, Near East University and the electric car of the Mediterranean, GÜNSEL, the inter-high school environmental competition aims to make children be aware of the existing environmental problems and to become a part of the solution of the problem with the suggestions they produce. In the competition, children will also create environmentally-friendly vehicles by designing their own projects with teamwork.

Applications can be made until 19 May in three categories.
In the competition, where high school students will compete with their ideas, the projects they submit will be evaluated in three different categories. In the project category, students will design a free project to propose solutions to the environmental problem as they wish. In the awareness category, students will focus on what can be done to raise social awareness of environmental problems. In this category, students will prepare advertising videos, boards, posters and seminar content with teamwork.

In the category of environmentally-friendly vehicles, students will design creative vehicles for environmental problems. They will be able to participate by drawing, designing or prototyping the vehicles they think of using recycled materials.

In the Inter-High School Environmental Competition, where applications will be accepted until May 19, the jury evaluation process will be completed between May 20-27 and the owners will receive their awards at a ceremony to be held on May 29.

Many prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition.
The Inter-High School Environmental Competition aims to raise awareness of the environment and nature protection, and to increase the level of knowledge on carbon emission, water pollution, zero waste, global warming and climate change among young people who continue their high school education. At the same time, it is aimed to create an environment that will improve their creativity, and develop their competencies such as idea development, design-oriented thinking, project design, drawing, public presentation, teamwork, leadership and explaining their ideas.

High school students will be awarded in each category in the competition. Project Grand Prize, Creativity Award, Teamwork Award and Special Jury Award will be given in all three categories.
