In the “World Scientist and University Rankings 2021” list published by AD Scientific Index, which evaluates universities, countries, regions, world, basic fields and branches based on the studies of scientists in the last 5 years, 71.4% of the academicians listed in the first 100 thousand from the TRNC are from Near East University.

Among the scientists who entered the list from TRNC universities, the scientists who continued their studies at Near East University were at the top. Standing out with his “High Energy Physics” studies, Prof. Dr. İsa Dumanoğlu ranks first in the TRNC. In the second place, there is another physicist Prof. Dr. Kerem Cankoçak. Near East University Biomedical Engineering Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dilber Uzun Özşahin ranked third, Near East University Faculty of Pharmacy Lecturer Prof. Dr. Kemal Hüsnü Can Başer ranked in the fourth place. Thus, Near East University is represented in the top 5 of the list by 4 scientists. Along with Prof. Dr. Derin Orhon, Prof. Dr. Ebrahim Babaei, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özsöz, Prof. Dr. İhsan Calis and Prof. Dr. Nesrin Hasırcı, the number of Near East University scientists increases to 9, who are in the top 10 of the list.

Scientists from Near East University also get their places in the European and world rankings in the World Scientist and University Rankings 2021 list published by AD Scientific Index. Prof. Dr. İsa Dumanoğlu from Near East University, who is ranked the first in the TRNC, was ranked as the 97th scientist in the ranking list in Europe and the 290th scientist in the world. Prof. Dr. Kerem Cankoçak, on the other hand, ranked 134th in Europe and 407th in the world.
AD Scientific Index’s World Scientist and University Rankings 2021 ranking includes 12 thousand 41 universities and 708 thousand 528 academics from 194 countries. The list was announced as the first 10 thousand, the first 100 thousand and the general ranking.
Near East University ranked 450th among 1190 universities in the world, and with the highest number of academics in the top 10 thousand in the ranking of the universities. With the contribution of Near East University, which is the only university among the top thousand universities from the TRNC, the TRNC was ranked 57th among 84 countries.
Near East Enterprises Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel stated that 71.4% of the scientists taking place from the TRNC in the top 100 thousand enlisted in the World Scientist and University Rankings 2021 published by AD Scientific Index are from Near East University, and said, “Near East University is leading the TRNC with its vision, opportunities and productivity. It will continue to move it to the top in the world of science.”
Emphasizing that 9 of the top 10 academicians from the TRNC were enlisted in the World Scientist and University Rankings 2021 are from Near East University, Prof. Dr. Günsel said, “I would like to thank all our academicians for their contributions to science, humanity and our country, especially to the first three most productive academicians of the TRNC, Prof. Dr. Isa Dumanoğlu, Prof. Dr. Kerem Cankoçak, and Assoc.
