While Near East University is the best university in the TRNC in all 7 categories in the list, it was the only TRNC university to be listed in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Physical Sciences, Technology, Biological Sciences and Chemical Sciences categories.
The 2021-2022 field rankings of URAP (University Ranking According to Academic Performance) operating within the Middle East Technical University Informatics Institute have been announced. Near East University took place in 7 categories in the 2021-2022 ranking of the higher education rating agency, which ranks 3,000 universities around the world according to their fields of science.
According to the academic performance of the last five years, the Near East University was ranked among the top 10 universities in Turkey in “Electrical and Electronics Engineering” in the list where it was evaluated together with Turkish universities. Ranking 11th in Turkey in the field of “Physical Sciences” and 13th in the field of “Engineering”, Near East University succeeded in being among the first 15 universities in these categories. Near East University was also among the top 20 universities in Turkey in the categories of “Technology” (16), “Biological Sciences” (17) and “Chemical Sciences” (19). Near East University, ranked 41st in the field of “Medicine and Health Sciences”, is the best university in the TRNC in all categories. It was the only TRNC university to be listed in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Physical Sciences, Technology, Biological Sciences and Chemical Sciences categories.
URAP, operating within the body of the Middle East Technical University Informatics Institute, lists the universities in Turkey and the world based on the academic performances of the last five years. Saying that Near East University is proud to be the best university in the TRNC in seven categories and the only university from the TRNC in the list in five categories, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, “We are extremely proud to be among the top 20 universities in Turkey in 6 of the 7 categories, and this achievement shows the way we have covered in our mission to transform the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus into an island of science and culture.”
