Gazi Early Childhood Development Assessment Tool, which is one of the important methods used to evaluate the cognitive, psychomotor, social-emotional and language development of children aged 0-72 months who receive pre-school education, was discussed at the workshop carried out by Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education, Department of Basic Education and Department of Preschool Education.

Students studying in the preschool teaching department attended the Gazi Early Childhood Development Assessment Tool Workshop organized by Assist. Prof. Dr. Şebnem Güldal Kan and Specialist. Şermin Kuset. The workshop was attended and contributed by the faculty members of the Near East University Preschool Education Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Dervişe Toklu and Lecturer Hulin Sıddık.

In the workshop, teachers of the future were trained on how to use the Gazi Early Childhood Development Assessment Tool, a developmental assessment tool that can evaluate the development of 0-72 month-old children in detail, organize their educational experiences, and diagnose developmental delays in children early.

Much easier than standard apps
In the workshop, it was emphasized that the Gazi Early Childhood Development Assessment Tool method, which is based on observing the child in the play environment with criteria that can evaluate all developmental areas in detail, is a much easier method compared to standard applications in determining the developmental characteristics of children. Gazi Early Childhood Development Assessment Tool, which was applied using a standard material set, handbook, Gazi Early Childhood Development Assessment Tool form and information sheet, consists of four subtests: psychomotor (73 items), cognitive (60 items), language development (60 items), social-emotional development (56 items) and 249 items. Items related to self-care skills are included in the social-emotional development subtest. At the end of the workshop, which was held with intense participation, certificates were given to the participants.
