
Near East University students both utilized their unused items and gained environmentally friendly habits in the “Exchange Table” event held on campus. The event provided an enjoyable experience for participants while supporting sustainability goals such as waste reduction and reuse.
In the event organized in collaboration with the Near East University Office of Dean of Students, Faculty of Tourism and Sustainable Living Community Green Hub, unused clothes, jewelry, books and household items were exchanged. The event, which was held with the slogan “Share, exchange, protect the future”, aimed to promote an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
In the event, which attracted great attention, Near East University Faculty of Tourism students exchanged household and personal items brought by participants at the stands they set up on the school campus.

Near East University Dean of Students Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz stated that the event aimed to raise environmental awareness in students and encourage them to fulfill their social responsibilities. Prof. Dr. Yavuz said, “Such events help our students to reinforce not only their academic success but also their social responsibilities.”
Emphasizing that the event enabled students to explore nature-friendly lifestyles more closely and strengthened their sense of social responsibility, Near East University Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Nesrin Menemenci Bahçelerli said, “Sustainability requires not only theoretical but also practical experience. The event provided our students with an important opportunity in this regard.” Prof. Dr. Bahçelerli thanked Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Uzunsaf, who led the organization of the event, and all the students who contributed.
Sustainable Life Community Green Hub Team Leader Tuğba Yılmaz said, “We organized this event to take a more interactive step towards environment-friendly habits. We aimed to reuse, exchange and spread community awareness by establishing one-on-one communication with students.”
