Hundreds of people donated during the three-day “Blood Donation Campaign” organized by the Turkish Red Crescent of Northern Cyprus on the Near East University campus!
The “Blood Donation Campaign” organized by the Turkish Red Crescent of Northern Cyprus on the Near East University campus attracted great attention. The three-day event was held at donation points located in various parts of the campus. The last day of the event, which was also attended by students, academics, student clubs, and fan associations, ended outside the Near East University Grand Library.
The campaign, which saw intense participation from members of the Psychology Club, International Veterinary Medicine Student Association (IVSA), ultrAslan Fan Association, Preschool Teaching Club, Nursing Club, Near East University Medical Students Association (NEUMSA) and Natural Disaster Search and Rescue Association (DAAK), revealed a great example of solidarity. Blood donation is not only a medical necessity, but also an important step that strengthens cooperation and solidarity in society. These donations, which save thousands of lives every year, are a great source of hope for those in need of blood, and they also have great meaning in terms of individuals fulfilling their social responsibilities.
This event at Near East University reminded participants of the role of blood donation in saving lives, while emphasizing that such campaigns should reach more people in society.
Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz: “Every donation saves a life, and every participation reinforces the power of social solidarity.”
Emphasizing that blood donation is not just a medical need, Near East University Dean of Students Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz said, “Every donation saves a life, and every participation reinforces the power of social solidarity. The fact that our university hosts this meaningful event shows that our students and all our stakeholders are raised as individuals who are sensitive not only in academic success, but also in contributing to society.” Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz also said, “I hope that this step we have taken to build a healthier and more solidarity-filled society will inspire more people.”
