Head of Near East University Technology Transfer Office Prof. Dr. Murat Özgören was elected as a Member of the Executive Board of the R&D Support and Process Management Services Group under the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Research Support Programs Presidency.

One of the missions of TUBITAK, which continues its activities under the Ministry of Industry and Technology in order to support industrial and academic research and development studies and innovations in Turkey, is to determine national science and technology policies and create strategies. The R&D Support and Process Management Services Group, of which Prof. Dr. Murat Özgören was elected as a member of the executive board, is one of the key units in determining these strategies. Prof. Dr. Özgören has also been serving as the European Union Research Infrastructures National Delegate for 14 years.

Chairman of the Near East University Technology Transfer Office, who was elected as a Member of the Executive Board of TÜBİTAK’s R&D Support and Process Management Services Group, which determines Turkey’s national science and technology policies and priorities, Prof. Dr. Murat Özgören stated that he is happy to represent Near East University and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at TÜBİTAK. Prof. Dr. Özgören described his assignment as an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Turkey and the TRNC for academic and industrial research and development projects.

Having an important role in the establishment of the Near East University Technology Transfer Office (NERITA) and currently serving as the president, Prof. Dr. Murat Özgören also emphasized the leading role of Near East University in technology development, R&D and innovation. Prof. Dr. Özgören said, “With the Near East University Technology Transfer Office, we aim to support professional project management and R&D in the TRNC, to ensure the commercialization of the emerging knowledge and technology and to develop the entrepreneurship culture in the country.”
