One of the most valuable members of the Cyprus Turkish educators, retired teacher and researcher Gülgün Serdar, donated valuable documents to National History Museum which was established under the body of Near East University. The documents were expressed to be regarding social and political history and education in Cyprus.

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, Gülgün Serdar donated valuable documents to National History Museum; established by the Near East University via a ceremony. The documents related to social and political history and education in Cyprus were presented to the Head of Scientific Board of National History Museum, Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul by Gülgün Serdar.

Diplomas, Documents and Photographs from the 1900’s will now be available in the archive of the National History Museum...

It was pointed out that there were diploma samples of Gülgün Serdar’s father from 1919, certificates, report cards and congratulation letters of various years from the British Governor of the period. One other valuable donated document is an immigration certificate given to Mr Ahmet, given to Turkish Cypriots subsequent to Treaty of Lozan. Furthermore, there are many vivid photographs reflecting those years. Moreover, there are documents belonging to Hatice A. Refik, Gülgün Serdar’s mother, such as various documents of education and social life, photographs and cards. In addition to the above, there are reports, certificates of different successes and cards of congratulations regarding the National struggle in Cyprus.
