Great Success in Global Rankings: Near East University is the 43rd Most Influential University in the World!

In the “2025 World University Impact Rankings” announced by Times Higher Education at the “Global Sustainability Development Congress” held in Istanbul, Near East University was ranked as the 43rd most influential university in the world.

The “Global Sustainability Development Congress” organized by Times Higher Education, an international higher education ranking organization based in London, in cooperation with the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) at the Istanbul Congress Center for the first time this year brought together more than 5 thousand international representatives from 110 countries. The results of the “2025 World University Impact Rankings” were also announced at the congress, which brought together universities from many countries around the world, especially Turkey and Cyprus, in Istanbul.

In the research conducted by Times Higher Education to assess the activities of 2,318 universities worldwide in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Near East University achieved a significant success by ranking 43rd worldwide. Near East University has made a remarkable rise by achieving a score of 92.8 out of 100. The fact that Near East University, which rose 250 steps in the rankings compared to the previous year, realized this performance in a year as 355 more universities added in the assessment rankings.

Near East University, which is the 43rd most influential university in the world, is among the world’s top 50 most influential universities in four of the 5 main categories it is listed in, especially in United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

13th in the world in Quality Education!

Near East University has proven its global effectiveness once again with achievements in many areas from education to health, from gender equality to sustainable cities. Near East University, which ranked 13th in the “Quality Education” category, was also shown as the 15th most influential university in the world in the “Sustainable Cities and Societies” category. The “Sustainable Cities and Societies” category, which ranks universities that lead regional, social and global progress with their pioneering work in the development of art and social heritage, is also a reflection of the campus of Near East University, which focuses on culture and art.

In the “2025 World University Impact Rankings” announced by Times Higher Education, Near East University also ranked 35th in the “Partnerships for Goals” category with a significant increase of ten steps. Rising to 48th place in the “Health and Well-being” category, Near East University stands out with its research in the field of health and contributions to health services, while it ranked 57th in the “Gender Equality” category, demonstrating its sensitivity to gender equality and its determination in this field.

Expressing their pride in being listed as the 43rd most influential university worldwide in the “2025 World University Impact Rankings” announced by Times Higher Education, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Enterprises, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, said, “The results we have achieved are a great source of pride not only for our university, but also for our country and region.
