Near East University Student and Dental Practitioner Dentist Mustafa Hacilar became the "International Student Exchange Officer" at the 65th International Association of Dental Students (IADS) Congress in Taiwan this year.
According to the information given by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of the Near East University, Mustafa Hacilar, who has been elected as the International Student Exchange Officer with the votes of 45 delegates from 23 countries, will serve as the internship exchange officer of all the dental students in the world in the coming period.
The International Association of Dental Students (IADS) was attended by a three-person group from our country, including intern Dentist Mustafa Hacılar, intern Dentist Erensu Uzar and trainee Dentist Selim Şahin Dönmez from North Cyprus Association of Dental Students (NCADS), representing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus..

This year, two candidates competed for the position of the International Student Exchange Officer at the Execution Board of IADS which is the student body of the World Dental Federation (also known as Federation of Dental International) (FDI). While one of the candidates nominated from Sudan, the other candidate was from North Cyprus, the NCADS head of North Cyprus, a student at the Near East University Faculty of Dentistry, the intern Dentist Mustafa Hacılar. After both candidates delivered a speech regarding their candidacy, closed voting took place. A total of 45 delegates from 23 countries participated in the voting process and the Sudanese candidate received 14 votes wheras Mustafa Hacılar received 31 votes, and won the election with a majority of votes.
