On the first day of the “Graduation Celebration” where Near East University will bid farewell to approximately 3 thousand students, a total of 730 students from 7 faculties threw up their caps.

The Graduation Celebration where Near East University bid farewell to its students graduating in the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year has begun. During the 4-day ceremonies, approximately 3 thousand students graduating from Near East University’s 21 faculties, 3 colleges and the Graduate Education Institute will experience the joy of throwing their caps.

On the first day of the festivities held at NEU Event Park; 730 students graduating from Atatürk Education, Arts and Sciences, Fine Arts and Design, Law, Theology and Communication faculties, Justice Vocational School, Vocational School and Graduate Education Institute experienced the joy of graduation with their families. Graduates experienced the joy of graduation with a DJ performance after the ceremony.

Having completed the Media and Communication Studies Doctorate Program of the Faculty of Communication of Near East University, Selahattin Bayırkan received his certificate from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Enterprises Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel.

Expressing that graduation is not only an individual achievement but also the product of a deep-rooted vision and common culture, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Enterprises Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, “At Near East University, we believe that we are a set of values and a family beyond being a higher education institution.”

Addressing the graduates by saying “You are now the carriers of this multi-layered heritage and vision. From today on, you will leave the mark of this university wherever you step. Addressing the graduates by emphasizing that graduation is not an end but also an opportunity for new beginnings, Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “You were students of this institution. Today, you are our graduates. Tomorrow, you will be representatives, spokespeople and carriers of Near East University. Remember that unquestioned knowledge turns into ideology. Thus, do not hesitate to question not only your surroundings but also yourself. Doubt, think, learn and develop. May your path be clear and your future bright.”

Expressing her feelings on behalf of Turkish students, Melisa Kaynakcı, a graduate of the Geography Department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Near East University, stated that graduating requires effort, work and sacrifice, and said, “I am proud to experience the pride of having worked hard and being the top student of my department and faculty. I would like to thank all our professors who are our source of knowledge and inspiration for this success, your efforts are behind every success we have achieved.”

Vera Ugwu, a graduate of the Faculty of Law at Near East University, stated that Near East University is much more than a campus, and said, “Our campus made us feel that learning is not limited to classes.
