Graduates of the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Agriculture, successfully completing the 2022-2023 academic year, capped off 205 students who graduated from the Faculty of Engineering and Agriculture of the Near East University in the spring term of 2022-2023 experienced the joy of graduation with the joint ceremony held at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center

In the ceremony, which started with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, Dean of the Near East University Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Bülent Bilgehan and Dean of Near East University Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Özge Özden gave speeches. Landscape Architecture graduate Tarık Karl Aksaç on behalf of the Faculty of Agriculture graduates, Taha Yasin Çavuş on behalf of the Faculty of Engineering graduates, and Ali Nikukar on behalf of the international graduates of the Faculty of Engineering made speeches.

At the ceremony, which took place with great participation, a short concert consisting of Cypriot melodies was performed by Electrical-Electronics Engineering Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamil Dimililier and Ünel Bensel. At the ceremony where emotional moments were experienced, those who lost their lives in the 6 February Turkey earthquakes and Champion Angels were commemorated with applause.

After the speeches, the graduates who received their diplomas threw their caps off with great enthusiasm.


Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ: “Graduation is a special goal reached at the end of a long and difficult journey. To achieve this goal requires effort, dedication, and determination.”
In his speech, Şanlıdağ said, “I am happy to be here to share your pride today. Starting his speech by saying “I heartfeltly congratulate all of you for successfully passing one of the major turning points of your life”, Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ further said, “Graduation is a special goal reached at the end of a long and difficult journey. To achieve this goal requires effort, dedication, and determination.” Emphasizing that learning life will never end, Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “Be passionate. Love what you do and move forward with your passion.”

Thanking the families and academics in his speech, Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ addressed the graduates by saying “While you are justifiably proud of your success, remember the responsibilities you will bear in the upcoming period. You have grown up as individuals who will offer solutions to the problems of humanity, are equipped with innovative ideas, and act in accordance with their values and ethical values”.


Prof. Dr. Bülent Bilgehan: “Now, each of you are young engineers with responsibilities towards your country and the world.”
Near East University Faculty of Engineering Dean Prof. Dr. Bülent Bilgehan started his speech at the ceremony by saying “Today, we are together to share the joy of our young engineers who graduated from the Near East University Engineering Faculty undergraduate programs and to bid farewell to the young engineers who are competent in their profession with honor.”

Prof. Dr. Bülent Bilgehan addressed the graduates and said, “You have successfully completed another challenging period of your education life that you have been continuing for years. Now, each of you are young engineers with a responsibility towards your country and the world. As you run from success to success, you will further glorify the Near East University and honor us.”

Addressing the families, Prof. Dr. Bülent Bilgehan said, “It is time to bid farewell to your sons, whom you raised with care, and send them to serve the society. Now you can be proud of them. You have been the biggest supporters of your children in their education life. In the presence of everyone, on behalf of all our young engineers, I owe a debt of gratitude to each and every one of you.”


Prof. Dr. Özge Özden: “We have no doubt that you will take firm steps in your field with the education you have received at our university and with your original innovative ideas.”
Near East University Faculty of Agriculture Dean Prof. Dr. Özge Özden reminded that Near East University Faculty of Agriculture was established in 2021 and said that they aim to serve the country and humanity with contemporary learning and progress by contributing to the development of new knowledge, technology and products, especially in the field of agriculture.

Prof. Dr. Özge Özden said, “We teach our students to be creative, productive, think in an original way and not be afraid to push the limits in their own projects or research. I believe that having these qualities and values can turn individuals into true ‘world citizens’ who can adapt to critical conditions and find solutions to the great problems of humanity.”

Addressing the graduate students in her speech, Prof. Dr. Özge Özden said, “We have no doubt that you will take firm steps in your field with the education you have received at our university and with your original innovative ideas.”


Taha Yasin Çavuş: “Our instructors, who inspire us and always support us with their knowledge and experience, helped us discover our potential.”
Speaking on behalf of the graduates of the Near East University Engineering Faculty at the ceremony, Taha Yasin Çavuş said that while all graduates were experiencing great excitement and honor, they also experienced the sadness of leaving their university life behind. Saying that they completed a challenging marathon with patience and perseverance, Taha Yasin Çavuş said, “Our instructors, who inspire us and always support us with their knowledge and experience, have enabled us to discover our potential.”

Stating that engineering is not just a profession, but a philosophy of life, Çavuş said, “We will move forward to add value to the society. We are on the verge of a new beginning. We will build successes with determination and innovative ideas to achieve our goals, and we will leave a mark on the engineering world.”


Tarık Karl Aksaç: “We are celebrating our graduation here today, with the knowledge and experience we gained after years of hard training.”
Speaking on behalf of the graduates of Near East University Faculty of Agriculture, Landscape Architecture graduate Tarık Karl Aksaç said, “We are happy to be celebrating our graduation here today, with the knowledge and experience we gained after years of hard training.” Congratulating his graduate friends, Tarık Karl Aksaç said, “We are now ready to take new steps in our new life. I would like to thank all my friends, teachers and families.”


Ali Nikukar: “We are now ready for the future with the education we received at the Near East University.”
Speaking on behalf of the international graduates of the Near East University Faculty of Engineering, Ali Nikukar, the valedictorian graduate of the faculty, started his speech by congratulating his graduates; “We achieved many successes by supporting each other during our challenging engineering education at the Near East University.” Thanking his friends, teachers and family, Ali Nikukar said, “We are now ready for the future with the education we received at the Near East University.”
