Free-of-charge service to patients at Near East University Hospital Emergency Department due to fire disaster in State Hospital

Near East University Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen stated that due to the fire disaster in the State Hospital, they have started to offer free-of-charge emergency services to patients in order to overcome the suffering of our people as of yesterday, aiming to heal the wounds with solidarity and cooperation, in coordination with the Ministry of Health.

Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen stated that due to the fire in Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, the patients were transferred to both the Near East University Hospital and Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital by the 153 Emergency Department and 112 Emergency Department ambulances.

Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen stated that 13 babies were brought to the neonatal intensive care unit due to preterm birth, respiratory failure and similar reasons and he is happy to inform that all babies are healthy now. Prof. Dr. Yenen reported that Near East University Hospital and Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital received a total of 97 patients to the general intensive care, coronary intensive care and cardiovascular surgery intensive care units, as well as all other services. Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen also stated that patients in need of surgery were taken into operation, the treatment of patients in intensive care units and inpatient services continued, and some of the patients were discharged in a healthy way.

Stating that they started to provide emergency services free-of-charge to patients who admitted to the emergency service yesterday, Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen emphasized that all kinds of preparations were carried out and precautions were taken at the Near East University Hospital in order to meet the health needs of patients, all health services including surgeries in coordination with the Ministry of Health will be carried out until the state hospital is in service, and our people do not need to worry about this. Stating that the devoted efforts of both the university hospitals and state hospitals' health teams have prevented greater suffering. Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen, thanking all health professionals, emphasized that all difficulties can be overcome in unity and solidarity.
