“Awards such as the one I recently received are highly significant and prestigious as they are the recognition of individuals and organisations/institutions due to their efforts in their fields. Since the date that we have founded the Near East University, we are proud to express that we have been awarded similar awards over the years. However, I must emphasise that our greatest achievement and award is being able to offer the best of educational services to our community, and to communities from around the world, alongside providing social utility as a whole. We have aimed and have achieved to provide the ‘islanders’ the opportunities possible at ‘continents’. We perceive the award we have recently received as an indication of responsibility to the community. Thus, we as the Near East University are aware of the responsibilities laid on us by being given the Queen Victoria Commemoration Medal and as the representative of Oxford Academic Union Regional Leader of the Mediterranean Region. Therefore, I must state that this award holds an exceptional value as it internationally recognises our leadership in terms of the educational services and social utilities we have provided in the region and many more efforts to come!”
