Foreign Affairs Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu tested the TRNC’s Domestic Automobile “GÜNSEL”

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Foreign Affairs Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu made a test drive with the B9, the first model of GÜNSEL, the first domestic car of TRNC, which was developed by Turkish engineers and designers throughout 1.2 million hours of labor at Near East University.

Foreign Affairs Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu got behind the wheel of 100% electric GÜNSEL and tested the vehicle in the driving area of GÜNSEL Production Facilities on the Near East University campus. During the test drive, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ertuğruloğlu was accompanied by Near East University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel. Commenting on the car after the test drive, Ertuğruloğlu emphasized GÜNSEL’s contribution to the promotion of TRNC in the world.

Foreign Affairs Minister Ertuğruloğlu reminded that GÜNSEL had wide coverage in the world press last month and mentioned its contribution to the promotion of the country. Foreign Affairs Minister Ertuğruloğlu said, “The success it has achieved and the commercial relations it has established abroad give GÜNSEL much more meaning and mission than an automobile on behalf of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.” Ertuğruloğlu described GÜNSEL as the TRNC’s “Count us in” message to the world.

Stating that he received the news that GÜNSEL will employ nearly 100 production personnel to train, Foreign Affairs Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu said that GÜNSEL has made a significant contribution to the promotion of the country, economy and employment, and thanked those who contributed to this success and the Günsel Family.

Welcoming Foreign Affairs Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu at GÜNSEL Production Facilities, Near East University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel accompanied Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu during the test drive. After the test drive, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel expressed his gratitude to Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu for his visit to GÜNSEL. Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said that they continue to work for mass production preparations with full force and said that GÜNSEL will appear on the world’s roads as a car produced in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
