For the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, artist Almaz Sharshekeev expressed his support for the fight against COVID-19 pandemic through his paintings on canvas

Artists continue to reflect their feelings on canvas in order to raise awareness and express their supports for the fight against COVID-19 pandemic that spreads rapidly all across the globe.

The Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University released that artist Almaz Sharshekeev tried to express his feelings through his paintings with a different perspective drawing attention to the fight against Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), which has been rapidly spreading all over the world.

Highlighting that being in isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic that surrounds the world could not take the artist away from the art, artist Almaz Sharshekeev stated that he had expressed his feelings through canvas painting with the purpose of raising awareness.

Underlining that we had been experiencing unprecedented times that have dramatically changed our daily lives, Sharshekeev stated that we would get through this and emerge stronger by taking into consideration the measures and warnings of the authorities. “Stay home. Stay Safe” noted he.

Every day, for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, an artist continues to share his/her three works to raise awareness and support the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

Who is Almaz Sharshekeev?
The artist was born in Kyrgyzstan in 1979. From 1996 to 2000 he studied at Kirghiz State Art College named after S.A. Chuikov. Between the years 2000-2005, he studied at the Academy of Arts named after T. Sadykov. In 2009, he became a member of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic. Since 2005, he has been working as a teacher at Kyrgyzstan State College of Art.

He has opened solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions. His first solo exhibition was held in 2010 Bishkek. In 2012, his solo exhibition “My Palette” opened at the Russian Science and Culture Center in Bishkek. In 2013, he opened “Jashoochyragy” exhibition in cooperation with artist-ceramicist Beishebayev Kanat at the Exhibition Hall of the Artists Union of the Kyrgyz Republic. In 2016, together with Mongolian Artist Chogzhmooo Uuzh Miller, he opened the exhibition “Emotions on the Palette” at the Exhibition Hall of the Kyrgyz Republic Artists Union. In 2017, the exhibition titled “Seri” opened at the National Museum of Art named after Gapar Aitiev. In the same year, his personal aid exhibition "Malevich City" Gastro bar Van Gogh opened in Bishkek.
