The champion of the inter-faculty indoor football (footsal) tournament held at Near East University was the Faculty of Sports Sciences.
The inter-faculty indoor football tournament held at Near East University ended with the final matches that witnessed great excitement. The final of the event organized in cooperation with the Near East University Faculty of Sports Sciences Recreation Department and the Health, Culture and Sports Department Presidency was held at the RA25 Sports Hall.
16 teams participated in the tournament, and in the grand final; Dentistry, Law, Sports Sciences and Pharmacy faculties competed. In the first match of the tournament, the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Law competed for the third place. Defeating its opponent 3-2 in the closely contested match, the Faculty of Dentistry finished the tournament in third place.
In the highly anticipated championship match of the day, the Faculty of Sports Sciences and the Faculty of Pharmacy faced off. In the final watched with great interest from students and academic staff filling the stands, the Faculty of Sports Sciences defeated its opponent by 4-3 and became the champion of the tournament.
In the award ceremony held after the tournament, the cups and medals were presented to the winning teams by Near East University Dean of Students Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz, Faculty of Sports Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Mehtap Tiryakioğlu, Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. İhsan Çalış and Faculty of Dentistry Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Sevcan Kurtulmuş Yılmaz.

Near East University Health, Culture and Sports Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan Atamtürk expressed his satisfaction with the great interest shown in the tournament and said, “Such organizations are not only sporting events for our students, but also offer an important experience area where they can develop their social skills.”

I congratulate all our competing teams and everyone who contributed. I also congratulate our Faculty of Sports Sciences, which became the champion.
