The healthcare sponsorship between the Cyprus Turkish Football Federation and the Near East University Hospital, Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Hospital, and Near East University Yeniboğaziçi Hospital continues into the new season. Under this sponsorship, 2,260 patient visits were accommodated last season; over 1,700 imaging procedures and 52 surgeries were performed.
The healthcare sponsorship between the Cyprus Turkish Football Federation (KTFF) and the Near East Group hospitals, which provide comprehensive medical support to Cyprus Turkish football, continues in the new season. As part of this collaboration involving Near East University Hospital, Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Hospital, and Near East University Yeniboğaziçi Hospital, comprehensive services addressing the health needs of footballers and referees will continue to be provided.
With the start of the new season, health screenings for footballers and referees have been completed at all three hospitals. Through these check-ups, the health status of athletes and referees was assessed, ensuring a safe start to the new season from a health perspective.
Near East University Hospital, Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Hospital, and Near East University Yeniboğaziçi Hospital will continue to support the health needs of footballers and referees with the continuation of the healthcare sponsorship into the new season, leveraging the services of their expert medical teams and advanced diagnostic and imaging infrastructure.
2,260 examinations and over 1,700 imaging scans performed last season
The scope of the healthcare sponsorship is also reflected in the service figures from the previous season. Under the collaboration, a total of 2,260 patient examinations and 52 surgeries were performed. Orthopedics was the medical specialty most frequently visited by footballers and referees. Under the protocol, 440 consultations were provided across orthopedics, 196 in emergency care, 75 in cardiology, and 33 in physical therapy.
Diagnostic and imaging services also constituted a significant part of the healthcare sponsorship. Last season, a total of 1,708 imaging procedures were performed, comprising 1,130 X-rays, 560 MRI/CT scans, and 18 ultrasound examinations. Thus, comprehensive healthcare support was provided to Turkish Cypriot football, ranging from medical reports and specialist evaluations to imaging and surgical interventions.
