Özay Günsel Children's University, founded with the aim of providing children with the opportunities to meet the world of science at an early age, developing their scientific thinking and scientific process skills, started 2019 educational year activities.

According to the information provided by Özay Günsel Children's University, Özay Günsel Children's University students made their first day with the dressing of their white gowns and receiving the gift bags containing educational materials.

Rector of Özay Günsel Children's University, Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli made a welcome speech to the parents on the first training day. In the meeting, at the Near East Grand Library, Hall 4, where the parents and students came together with their families, Duygu Kaptanoğlu Coşkun, General Coordinator Çağla Akarsel and Coordinators Dervise Amca, Mina Darbaz and Türkay Öyken and assistants in charge of teaching-training activities at the Özay Günsel Children's University were introduced to the families of students. Afterwards, the students were taken into their classes according to their age groups and played an acquaintance game as an initial activity.

Özay Günsel Children's University Rector Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli, addressing to the parents at the meeting, stated that programs on nature, school, virtual reality, critical thinking will be implemented in order to discover the talents of children and ensure that they take a qualified education in the fields of science and technology.

Prof. Dr. Meriçli, stating that the aim of the Children's University is to give children the opportunity to learn by doing something, said "We think that our university will primarily create a meaningful awareness for our region. As Özay Günsel Children's University, it is an important part of our mission to lead education. We will bring children together with scientists and artists under the roof of the university at an early age and provide them with the opportunity to learn reliable and up-to-date information about the scientific fields of interest from the leading scientists in their fields. In this way, our children will understand the importance of science, art and education.”

Practical Training will be given in four groups…
Students will be educated at the Özay Günsel Children's University in age groups formed in accordance with their ages which are 06-08 Age “Earth”, 09-11 Age “Sun”, 12-14 Age “Galaxy”, 15-17 Age “Universe”. Within the scope of the two-month Özay Günsel Children's University education program, educational programs, seminars, scientific activities, natural-cultural excursions, exhibitions and applied learning activities will be organized. The ultimate aim of the trainings is to support and develop students' problem solving, thinking, decision-making and production skills and abilities.
