Fatoş Miralay has been awarded the Art Award, given to 16 Women by The English School of Nicosia

An Artist and Head of Department of Art Teaching of Atatürk Faculty of Education of Near East University, Fatoş Miralay has been awarded the Literature and Art Award given to 16 women by the English School; a school which is considered to be one of the most prestigious secondary schools in the Middle East and Europe.

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, it was revealed that as part of the “Justice Project” run by the English School, 16 women were awarded Literature and Art Award and Head of Department of Art Teaching of Atatürk Faculty of Education of Near East University, Fatoş Miralay was chosen as one of the 16 women to be rewarded with an award.

Furthermore, it was stated that due to international women’s day, a ceremony was held at The English School Headmaster Residency on March 8th, 2016. Moreover, it was pointed out that the Greek Literature Club had also opened a photography exhibition at the event. The exhibition was expressed to involve photographs regarding; “women” “LGBT Individuals” “ethnic minorities” and “refugees”.

Making a short speech as she was rewarded her award, Head of Department of Art Teaching of Atatürk Faculty of Education of Near East University stated that she was honoured to receive such a significant award and thanked everyone for choosing her.
