Faculty members of the Department of Turkish Language Teaching at Near East University published three articles in two separate journals scanned in important indexes

Articles written by Near East University Faculty members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yeniasır, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Gökbulut, Assist. Prof. Dr. Selma Korkmaz and Specialist Tülay Kaya Tekman have been published in journals that are scanned by important indexes such as Web of Science, Scopus, Doaj, and Erihplus.

Literary works have great importance in the formation of national identity
Near East University Atatürk Education Faculty Turkish Language Teaching Department academic staff members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yeniasır and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Gökbulut put the works of Özker Yaşın, one of the important names of Turkish Cypriot literature, under the focus in their article titled "A Review of Özker Yaşın's Bayraktar Song and, his plays named in Terms of Historical Event - Literary Text Relations."

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yeniasır and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Gökbulut emphasized that his song Bayraktar (Flagbearer) and his plays Zafer (Victory) ve Bağış (Donation), written by Özker Yaşın, are in harmony with historical facts when examined in the context of history and literature relations, and that Yaşın took care to give the cultural characteristics of the period by building the events on historical facts in both works.

The bronze bust of Özker Yaşın, one of the master writers of Turkish Cypriot poetry, is also included in the "Turkish Cypriot Writers Bust Collection" at the Walled City Museum.

Parents do not tell their children about poetry, epic, myth, fable, comic books, theater and information-type books
Assist. Prof. Dr. Selma Korkmaz and Specialist Tülay Kaya Tekman's study titled "Opinions of Parents whose Children Studying in Primary School on the Selection of Children's Books" reveals interesting results. The study emphasizes that parents prefer more stories, fairy tales, novels, anecdotes and historical books to teach their children, and they do not introduce poems, epics, legends, fables, comic books, theater and information-type books to their children.

Local tastes are forgotten
Assist. Prof. Dr. Selma Korkmaz and Specialist Tülay Kaya Tekman's study focusing on "Yozgat Food Culture" points out that many dishes and desserts unique to the Yozgat region have begun to be forgotten, especially among the 20-45 age group. Among the forgotten delicacies, there are flavors such as crocus rice, egg dessert, corn dessert, sour zucchini, ginnich, and tan rice.
