Near East University, authorized and certified by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security as the institution providing “Occupational Health and Safety” training, is launching an “OHS Trainer Training Course” for Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) experts.
According to the statement made by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, the “Trainer Training Course for the Occupational Health and Safety Experts” to be given by the Near East University Institute of Occupational Health and Safety will be held between 6-16 October 2020. It was stated that the deadline for applications for the training, which will last 40 hours in total, will continue until the end of working hours on Monday, October 5, 2020.
The aim of the course for occupational health and safety experts is to improve the training skills of OHS experts and to help employees to carry out OHS training in the best way in their businesses. In this framework, at the end of the course, it is aimed to develop the training skills of the staff who will undertake occupational health and safety training at workplaces to change the knowledge, skills, and attitudes/behaviors of employees. Throughout the program, examples of occupational health and safety and, in particular, examples to be arranged according to the needs of the course participants in their workplaces will be studied. Interactive methods will be applied in the course in which the principles of competency-based approach have been adopted; For skills, application guides for occupational health and safety will be created and used.

Stating that they have recently started to provide occupational health and safety training, Aziz Gürpınar said that trainers should constantly improve their competencies for quality education. Gürpınar stated that training of trainers helps trainers gain the skills they need to provide an effective training; “It is important that occupational health and safety trainers, who play an important role in creating a valuable culture on occupational health and safety in the workplace, must be able to carry out all training processes by using their trainer skills effectively. Conscious and well-equipped trainers are individuals who contribute to the effective maintenance of Occupational Health and Safety processes in institutions. In this sense, I believe that all OHS experts, who will receive training and then train and provide Occupational Health and Safety training to employees in their workplaces, will increase their skills with this training”.
