Near East University Women’s Basketball Team faced Bellona AGÜ for the first leg of the FIBA EuroCup final and defeated its opponent by a score of 69-73. Thus the Near East University took precious Final lead back to ıstanbul with four point score advantage.

The return leg of the FIBA EuroCup Women 2017 Final will be played at Istanbul Caferağa Sport Hall on 12 April 2017. The winner is determined by aggregate score, the sum of the scores of two legs. If the Near East University keeps the score advantage and achieve the aggregate score, the Near East University will be the champion and bring the cup to TRNC for the first time in its history.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of the Near East University, the match, which took place at Kayseri Kadir Has Congress and Sports Center and broadcasted live by BRT 2 HD and www.fiba.com, was the scene of breathtaking moments. The Near East University team players exhibited outstanding performances with tough defense in all zones and dominated all periods by accomplishing net scores of 25-15, 39-37, 58-52 and 73-69.
