Four sessions will be held at the Epidemic/Pandemic Diseases Symposium, where many epidemics/pandemics, especially COVID-19, will be discussed.

Before the symposium, a seminar will also be given by Prof. Dr. Nedim Çakır. The chairman of the conference will be presided by the President of the Turkish Microbiology Society Prof. Dr. Sebahat Aksaray. In the symposium sessions that will start after the conference, the topics of "Laboratory Method in Epidemics/Pandemics", "The Importance of My Mathematical Modeling in the Monitoring and Control of Epidemics/Pandemics", "New Approaches in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Epidemics/Pandemics" and "Forgotten Infections in Epidemics/Pandemics" will be discussed.

Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ: “The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed important results in terms of reminding the devastating effects that pandemics can have on human life and national economies.”

Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “As Near East University, we have accumulated significant experience with the research and product development projects we have carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic. We aim to expand this experience and knowledge through mutual exchanges that we will realize by coming together with scientists who have important knowledge in this field.

Stating that they attach great importance to the Epidemic/Pandemic Diseases Symposium in this respect, Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “With the symposium we will realize with the contributions of the Turkish Microbiology Society, the TMC-TRNC Microbiology Platform and the esteemed scientists of our university, we will also contribute to the strengthening of cooperation in the field of health between our motherland Turkey and the TRNC.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Buket Baddal: “We will strengthen the cooperation we developed with the Turkish Microbiology Society during the pandemic process with the Epidemic/Pandemic Diseases Symposium we will organize.”

Reminding that the TRNC Microbiology Platform was established in 2019 to coordinate and develop cooperation between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in microbiology research, Head of the TRNC Microbiology Platform Assoc. Prof. Dr. Buket Baddal also reminded that "We faced the COVID-19 pandemic even less than a year after the TRNC Microbiology Platform was established with the cooperation of the Turkish Microbiology Society and the Near East University."

"We will strengthen the cooperation we developed with the Turkish Microbiology Society during the pandemic process with the Epidemic/Pandemic Diseases Symposium we will hold" saying Assoc. Prof. Dr. Baddal further added; “The sharing of knowledge and experience we will carry out with the symposium will also guide the possible epidemics/pandemics that might occur in the future.”
