NEU Event Park located on the Near East University campus is hosting drift stars this time.
NEU Event Park, which hosted the TEKNOFEST Drone Championship last month, is preparing to host motorsports enthusiasts this weekend. The second leg of the Drift NEU Northern Cyprus Drift Championship will be held on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1 at NEU Event Park located on the Near East University campus. The organization, in which approximately 40 pilots will participate, stands out as one of the highest-attended drift events of recent years.
Master drift pilots coming from many countries, especially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkey, will provide adrenaline-filled moments to the audience with specially modified vehicles belonging to brands popular with performance enthusiasts such as Nissan, Toyota, BMW, Mazda and Mercedes.
Important names such as Enver Haskasap, who is a three-time TRNC Drift Champion and known for his successes in the European arena, will also take part in the organization. The organization, where Turkish Drift Champions and international stars will also compete, will turn into a motorsports festival.
The event will start with official training on Saturday, May 31 at 13:00. After the qualifying rounds to be held between 16:00 and 18:30, a city tour and autoshow will be held at 19:00.
The Grand Final is on June 1!
The real race will take place on Sunday, June 1. After the trainings to start at 14:00, the pilots will greet the audience and take their places on the track. The double elimination rounds to be held in the Semi Pro and Pro categories starting at 16:30 will take everyone’s breath away at NEU Event Park. The organization will end with the award ceremony to be held at 21:00. The winners will add great points to their records on the way to the championship.
The points to be earned in this race, which is one of the official stages of the Drift NEU Northern Cyprus Drift Championship, will also be decisive for the 2025 championship. After the first leg of the championship, Yılmaz Demir is in the lead in the Semi Pro category and Enver Haskasap in the Pro category. This week’s race will also be an important threshold that can change the rankings.
