The SARS-CoV-2 PCR Diagnostic Kit, developed by Turkish scientists at the Near East University, was accredited as a result of the analyzes performed by the Molecular Diagnosis Quality Control Program - MOTAKK. In the study, which was reported by MOTAKK by analyzing the results of 404 laboratories that applied PCR test in the molecular diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2, Near East University DESAM Research Institute Kit Production Laboratory, with the results reached by using the TRNC's native SARS-CoV-2 PCR Diagnostic Kit, found to be one of the most accurate and reliable labs.

Thus, the TRNC's native PCR Diagnostic Kit, which was previously approved for production and use by the TRNC Ministry of Health and the TRNC Ministry of Economy and Energy Department of Industry, and is the molecular diagnostic tool used in the diagnosis of viral infections, was also registered and accredited by MOTAKK, which certifies the accuracy of tests and kits by scoring them including the molecular diagnostic tools certified by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved

Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel: “With our capacity to produce science, we will continue to produce projects based on R&D and high technology that highly add value in the field of health.”
Near East University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel emphasized the importance of accrediting the reliable diagnostic results of the TRNC's native PCR Diagnostic Kit, which was designed and R&D process carried out by Turkish scientists at Near East University, by registering it by MOTAKK. Reminding that Near East University is among the top 250 universities in the world in the fields of 'Engineering' and 'Computer Sciences' in the World Universities Ranking 2022 published by the international higher education rating agency Times Higher Education, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, "With our capacity to produce science, we will continue to produce projects based on R&D and high technology that create high added value in the field of health ."

Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ: “Within the framework of the external quality control program, we correctly reported all of the samples with unknown viral loads transmitted to our laboratory by MOTAKK.”
Saying that MOTAKK is included in the SARS-CoV-2 RNA External Quality Control Program with the introduction of the TRNC's native PCR Diagnostic Kit in the TRNC, Near East University Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “Within the framework of the external quality control program, samples of which qualitative results and viral loads are unknown by MOTAKK were studied by the scientists who are in charge of conducting the R&D studies of the Near East University Kit Production Laboratory and all of them were reported correctly.” Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “With the results obtained, the reliability of our SARS-CoV-2 PCR Diagnostic Kit has been registered once again.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmut Çerkez Ergören: “The TRNC's native SARS-CoV-2 PCR Diagnostic Kit is among the PCR Diagnostic kits with the highest diagnostic reliability due to the results that are 100% coherent with the results of MOTAKK.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmut Çerkez Ergören, one of the staff of the Near East University Covid-19 Diagnosis and Kit Production Laboratory, said, “In these days when the number of daily cases is increasing, the Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method continues to be used as the gold standard in the diagnosis of COVID-19 and in the detection of viral loads. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ergören said, "The accuracy and reliability of the kits used in molecular diagnosis are determined by the Ct value, which is the threshold value, and the sample curve detected in a positive sample. It once again demonstrated the diagnostic and sensitivity reliability of the TRNC's native SARS-CoV-2 PCR Diagnostic Kit by giving consistent results."
