Department of Radio TV and Cinema of Near East University took cinema to the streets

The Cinema Club of the Near East University Faculty of Communication Department of Radio, TV and Cinema jointly organised a youth event with Güzelyurt Yeşilada Lions Club. As part of the “Cinema on Streets” event, a film was screened at Güzelyurt Bandabuliya.

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, Head of Department of Radio, TV and Cinema Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap and Head of Yeşilada Lions Club Seval Zaifoğlu cooperated to jointly organise a film screening event. It was pointed out that the Academic Member of Department of Radio, TV and Cinema, Emrah Öztürk, Specialist Abdullah Sayar, Student Assistant Çağlayan Dursun and NEU Cinema Club students contributed to the realization of the event.


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap: “Our aim is to spread the cinema culture and create an environment for the youth to mingle”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap made a statement on the matter and stated that their aim in organising the event was to spread the culture of cinema and also create an environment for the Güzelyurt youth to mingle. It was stated that the cinema film which was screened on the street was titled as “Nadide Hayat” and the Director of the Film was Çağan Irmak. Furthermore, it was pointed out that there was a high number of attendances to the event by the youth in Güzelyurt and the members of Yeşilada Lions Club.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kasap: “We are ready to cooperate with all the non-governmental organisations so as to provide the art of cinema all over the country!”

Subsequent to the film screening, Head of Yeşilada Lions Club, Seval Zaifoğlu, presented certificates of gratitude to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap and to everyone who made a contribution to the event and emphasised that they wished to continue to cooperate with Near East University department of Radio, TV and Cinema. Making a short speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap, stated that they aimed to facilitate cinema to a wide-range of audience around the country and that they, as the Department, were ready to cooperate with all the non-governmental organisations in the country.
