Cyprus Photo Exhibition Consisting of 65 Photos taken by Near East University Photography Club Students opened in Çanakkale

A photography exhibition titled "Cyprus in Çanakkale - Dardanalles" held in cooperation with the Provincial Directorate of Turkey Ministry of Youth and Sports, Embassy of Nicosia of Turkey and Near East University Photography Club. 65 photos taken by the member students of the Photography Club were exhibited in the exhibition.

According to a press statement released by the Near East University Press and Public Relations Directorate, the opening ceremony of the exhibition was organized by the Photography Club Counselor Hüseyin Aşkaroğlu in Çanakkale Trojan Square and Deputy Governor of Çanakkale Tahir Şahin, Çanakkale Provincial National Education Director Ferhat Yılmaz, Youth and Sports Ministry Provincial Director Aziz Sinan Alp, Culture and Tourism Provincial Director Kemal Dokuz, Provincial Directorates of Youth and Sports Branches and their staff, Cyprus Veterans and residents of Çanakkale attended to the opening ceremony.

Before the opening of the exhibition a one minute silence ceremony was held in memory of the fallen in the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation. After the opening of the exhibition, students of the Photography Club made presentations about the geography, historical and cultural characteristics of Cyprus.

Brotherhood was highlighted between the two countries...
Hüseyin Aşkaroğlu, the consultant of the Near East University Photography Club, made a short speech at the opening ceremony of the exhibition and said that artist in all art branches should be in an attempt to promote the Northern Cyprus and that they were happy to fulfill this responsibility with this event.

Aşkaroğlu stating that they have photographed the historical and cultural texture of Northern Cyprus and the photographs related to the Cyprus Peace Operation took part in the exhibition. Hüseyin Aşkaroğlu said in his speech; "I hereby commemorate the fallen who sacrificed their lives during the Cyprus Peace Operation with the deepst gratitude and with a healthy and long life to heroic veterans".

Çanakkale Provincial National Education Director who delivered a speech during the opening ceremony of the exhibition emphasized the fraternity of the two countries and said " We are delighted and honored to see the guests from Cyprus in Çanakkale and to see the historical texture, nature and cultural characteristics of Northern Cyprus. The continuation of this project will be crowned with the Çanakkale Exhibition in Cyprus. Republic of Turkey, at any time and in any condition is in support of our brothers, the Turkish Cypriot people".

The exhibition was praised a lot...
The exhibition titled Cyprus Photo Exhibition in Çanakkale consisting of 65 photos taken in different regions of Northern Cyprus by the member students of the NEU Photography Club was praised a lot by the visitors and attracted great interest by the people of the region. Participants also experienced emotional moments when the Cyprus Veterans watched the photos of the Cyprus Peace Operation.

Plaque was presented...
After the opening of the exhibition, Mr. Hüseyin Aşkaroğlu, the Counselor of the Near East University Photography Club, gave a plaque of appreciation on behalf of the university their support and contributions to the exhibition to Deputy Governor Tahir Şahin, Çanakkale Provincial Director of National Education Ferhat Yılmaz, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, Aziz Sinan Alp. Governorate of Çanakkale, Provincial Directorate of National Education and Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports also presented a plaque of appreciation to Hüseyin Aşkaroğlu.

Çanakkale Exhibition in Cyprus...
The students of the Near East University Photography Club will open a “Çanakkale Photography Exhibition in Northern Cyprus in May with photos taken as a result of a 6-day workshop in Çanakkale as part of the Çanakkale in Cyprus’ project.
