Photography Artist and Turkish Cypriot Photography Association (FODER) Chairman Mehmet Gökyiğit's 100x2 Photography Exhibition consisting of 200 photographs from different categories, will be opened by President Mustafa Akıncı.

According to a press statement released by the Near East University Press and Public Relations Directorate, the opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place on Wednesday, 29 May 2019 at 10:00 at the Irfan Günsel Exhibition Hall of the Faculty of Health Sciences complex,  Near East University.In the exhibition, besides the 74 photographs of Mehmet Gökyiğit, which won awards in national and international photography competitions, 66 colored and 60 black and white photographs will be exhibited to the art lovers.

Third Solo Photography Exhibition...
100x2 Themed Photography Exhibition, following the 10x10 exhibition held in 2015 in Nicosia and the exhibition titled "Northern Cyprus - Pearl of Mediterranean“ will be hosted by Near East University as the third solo exhibition of the artist.

In 2018, Mehmet Gökyiğit was awarded with the title of EFIAP / b (Excellence FIAP Bronze) by FIAP many photographs from different categories of the photographer were exhibited and awarded in the events held by FIAP, PSA and UPI patronage international photography competitions.

Who is Mehmet Gökyiğit?
Mehmet Gökyiğit was born in 1965 in Poli - Paphos. He is an Electronic Engineer, and works as the chair person of the studio and broadcast systems of the Ministry of National Education and Culture. Since 2005, he has been the President of Turkish Cypriot Photography Association (FODER). Gökyiğit, who is interested in nature, landscape photographs and panoramic photography, has contributed to many exhibitions in Turkey and abroad between the years 2005-2019 with his photographs. He also participated in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th Photography Days held by Near East University .In the 2nd International Lefke CMC conference held in 2007, his visual presentation on CMC Wastes was screened at the conference opening.

Gökyiğit, who contributed to the programs "Green Politics", "Environmentalist" and "Cafe Talks" aired by BRT between the years 2007 and 2010, participated in many photographic events and exhibitions held by national and international institutions and foundations, and TURKSOY.

Mehmet Gökyiğit, who has participated in various photo contests held in the country as a jury member and his photographs took place in many newspapers, magazines and books in Turkey and abroad. Gökyiğit has also made photo presentations and interviews. Gökyiğit has been awarded with the title of EFIAP / b (Excellence FIAP Bronze) by FIAP in 2018. Gökyiğit opened his solo photo exhibition 10 x 10 in 2015 which consisted of 10 photographs in 10 different categories  In 2018, he opened his first international photo exhibition "Northern Cyprus - Pearl of Mediterranean" consisting of 50 photographs in Baku (Azerbaijan).
