Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts Faculty Member and Ceramic Artist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Özçelik's solo exhibition titled TRACES features a total of 45 pieces consisting of 32 pieces of superficial works of tiles and 13 pieces of abstract women sculptures, all of which will be added to the collection of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. This distinguished solo exhibition will be opened by Nazım Çavuşoğlu, TRNC Minister of National Education and Culture.

The Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University released that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Özçelik’s solo ceramic exhibition will be opened by TRNC National Education and Culture Minister Nazım Çavuşoğlu with a ceremony to be held at the exhibition hall at the Faculty of Medicine of Near East University at 9:00 on Friday 04 October, 2019.

Surface and Abstract Works will be exhibited...
Ceramic artist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Özçelik's solo exhibition features very distinguished surface and abstract works reflecting his extraordinary vision. 32 pieces of work reflecting the artist's surface decorating techniques and 13 women sculptures emphasizing the meaning behind the abstract forms are very spectacular in terms of reflecting the artist's talent and vision in ceramics art.

Who is Hüseyin Özçelik (Istanbul 1964)?
He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramics in 1989, received his Master's Degree in 1993, and his Qualification in Arts in 1998. He has participated in numerous national and international group exhibitions and won various awards including the State Painting and Sculpture Exhibition Ceramics Achievement Award in 1977, Russian Orient Art Museum Honor Medal in 1999, the State Painting and Sculpture Exhibition Ceramics Achievement Award in 2001, 2005 Croatia 2nd Vase Triennial Gold Plaque Award in 2005, and Ankara Art Institution Artist of the Year Award in 2016. He has made more than 100 wall panel apps up country and also made such wall panel apps at Near East University in Cyprus, at International Macsabal Museum in South Korea and in Libya. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Özçelik currently works as a faculty member at the Department of Ceramics of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Hacettepe University.
