The Cyprus Car Museum offers visitors cars from every period of its 100-year history, from the early 1900s to the 2000s. The museum, where you can witness the journey of brands such as Mercedes, Ford and BMW, which are the indispensable parts of the automobile world, from their first models to the present day, also exhibits many classic vehicles such as the 1901 Model Crestmobile, the 1903 Model Wolseley and the 1909 Model Buick. The Jaguar, which broke the 300 km/h speed limit for the first time, the Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster, the Dodge Viper SRT10 Final Edition and the Ford GT40, many legendary sports cars are also among the museum’s collection. The official car gifted to the leader of the Turkish Cypriot Community, Dr. Fazıl Küçük, by Queen Elizabeth II of England, is also among the most special samples of the museum.
The sound of the Ford GT40 fascinated
The favorite of the athletes who wandered among the historical and modern vehicles at the Cyprus Car Museum was the 2006 model Ford GT40. Athletes who wanted to hear the engine sound of the Ford GT40 immortalized this moment by recording it on video. Designed by Ford in the 1960s to put an end to Ferrari’s dominance in the Le Mans races, the GT40 revolutionized the world of motorsports with its powerful V8 engine and striking design. Winning four consecutive Le Mans victories between 1966 and 1969, this engineering marvel went beyond being just a race car and became a symbol of an era in the automotive world. This iconic vehicle in the museum continues to represent the golden age of motorsports today.
