The painting and sculpture exhibitions, which will be opened by Minister of Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu at the Exhibition Hall of the Near East University Hospital on Wednesday, October 27 at 09:30, will bring together the works of Tajik, Kazakh and Kyrgyz artists, exclusively prepared for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.

Tajik artist Abdukodir Rakhimov’s solo painting exhibition titled “The Environment of the Future” includes 50 of the artist’s special works. The Environment of the Future, which will be the 388th exhibition of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, will be open to visitors until 5 November. The works of Tajik artist Abdukodir Rakhimov, who is 65 years old and exhibited his works in group and solo exhibitions in many countries such as Japan, Germany, Russia, Belarus, Belgium, Azerbaijan and Italy, take place in many museums and private collections especially in Tajikistan, the USA and Russia.

The “Group Sculpture Exhibition”, which is the 389th exhibition of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, brings together the sculptures of Kazakh and Kyrgyz artists. The exhibition, which consists of sculptures by Altai Usenov, Andrey Orazbayev, Isken Abdaliev, Mirlan Sultanbek Uulu, Nurlan Kebek Uulu, Talgat Zhumagulov and Tolkunbeg Esenaliev, will feature 10 extraordinary sculptures.

Recalling that exhibitions are one of the most effective ways for artists to share their ideas with the society, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün said, “All exhibitions that meet with the art lovers in the art galleries of Near East University are the environments where this sharing is most intense. Moreover, the fact that they are on a campus, where there are faculties and institutes that provide high-level education, training, artistic-scientific research and broadcasting, and the presence of both individuals in the society and students from different cultures who meet here for education, makes these exhibitions even more effective and meaningful.” Assoc.
