The book titled "Past, Present And Solutions For The Future Of Cyprus" edited and compiled by Near East University Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş, lecturers Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Işıksal, Tuğçenur Yılmaz and Youssef Kassem was published by the Near East University Publications. The book consists of the presentations made at the conference titled "Past, Present And Solutions For The Future Of Cyprus".

The book, which will shed light on the near future of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, consists of 3 chapters and 290 pages. In the first part of the book, ‘Opening / Closing Speeches’, in the second part ‘Interviews’ and in the third part ‘Articles’ have been included.

According to the information provided by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the outcomes of the Second International Cyprus Conference held by Near East University in April, “Cyprus Issue: The Vision of the Past, Present and Future of Cyprus, have been compiled in a book after the conference. About 30 of articles written in English will be published by Springer, and the Turkish version will be available at Amazon as an E-book very soon.

Near East University Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş stated that 30 articles will be published in Springer and delivered to 8000 libraries around the world.

Stating that such books are important sources for the future of the Turkish Cypriot people, Prof. Dr. Gökçekuş said "By this way, another step will be taken in the process of recognition of the TRNC. The duty of the universities in our country is to provide the highest quality education and training, to contribute to the research and development (R & D) issues in our country and to serve the society. In this way, we will fulfill our mission to serve the society as academicians."


Interviews and articles compiled…
The opening speeches section of the book includes the speeches of; Conference Chair Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş, Honorary President of the Conference and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East University Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, Director General of Political Affairs and Maritime, Border and Aviation of Republic of Turkey, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Çağatay Erciyes, while the closing speech in this section belongs to the TRNC Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prof. Dr. Kudret Özersay.
