Best Paper Award goes to Near East University Faculty of Communication Faculty Members

Faculty members of Near East University Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio-TV and Cinema were deemed worthy of the best paper award with the article they presented at the II. Mediterranean International Scientific Research Congress.

According to the information provided by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, at the II. Mediterranean International Scientific Research Congress held in cooperation between the West University, located in Famagusta, in and the Institute of Economic Development and Social Research (İKSAD), the paper prepared by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap, Assist. Prof. Dr. Çağdaş Öğüç, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Dolunay and lecturer Zeyde Yalıner Örek and titled "An Investigation on the Perception Management of Disabled Persons in Turkish Cinema in the Historical Process" was awarded the first prize.

The best paper award was presented to Near East University lecturers by Rector of West University, Prof. Dr. Ömer Camcı, and the Secretary-General of the university, Oğulcan Topal.

Near East University Radio-TV and Cinema Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap stated that they are very proud on behalf of their university for this success and stated that they have been continuing their research and studies for individuals with disabilities for a long time.

Feeling special sensitivity about developing all kinds of opportunities for individuals with special needs and caring about their rights, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kasap stated that the Disability Rights Monitoring Committee was established for this purpose and within this structure, faculty members from all faculties produce projects for individuals with special needs. In addition, within the Faculty of Communication, Kasap stated that they have established the Disabled Activity and Cinema Hall, and that they have been carrying out various activities and training activities for individuals with special needs in this perfect place.
