Dr. Suat Günsel Mosque will be opened on January 11, 2024, as one of the largest worship centers in the region. Dr. Suat Günsel Mosque will open its doors to members of the press before the grand opening. Press members who will visit the mosque between 9.00-16.00 on Tuesday, January 2, Dr. will also be able to take images from Dr. Suat Günsel Mosque. Many countries are expected to attend the opening on January 11, to which the heads of state and heads of religious affairs of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are also invited.

The greatest monumental work brought to the island by the Turkish Cypriots
In addition to the architectural design and engineering, the production of the materials used was completed in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Dr. Suat Günsel Mosque will go down in history as the largest monumental work brought to the island by Turkish Cypriots. In addition to its spiritual value, it also has a strong architectural and artistic value. The stained glass windows adorning the 104 windows of the Dr. Suat Günsel Mosque were designed and prepared by the artists of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts in their own workshops. The castings of the dome and minaret finials, which are completely cast in aluminum and the largest of which is 7 meters long, were also cast in the workshops on the Near East University campus. All 47 chandeliers, the largest of which has a diameter of approximately 8 meters, were designed by the artists of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and produced in their own workshops.

Glazed tiles were not used in its interior decorations. The dome and interior decorations of the Dr. Suat Günsel Mosque were completed with oil painting technique by the artists of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, with approximately one year of manual labor. Its doors, pulpits and other furniture, which draw attention with their detailed engravings, were designed and produced by İkas Mobilya, a subsidiary of Near East Enterprises. White stone specific to Cyprus, processed by Turkish Cypriot craftsmen, was used outside the Dr. Suat Günsel Mosque.

It is the largest mosque in the TRNC with 62 domes and 6 minarets. Dr. Suat Günsel Mosque will allow 10 thousand people to worship at the same time. Along with the mosques in Turkey, it is the 6th mosque with 6 minarets in the region. Dr. Suat Günsel Mosque will go down in history as the only mosque with 6 minarets of which domes and minarets are coated in gold color.

A total of 10 thousand people can worship at the same time. Dr. Suat Günsel Mosque has the largest main dome on the island, with a height of 36.8 meters and a diameter of 23.8 meters. The main dome is surrounded by 61 domes of smaller diameters. There are 27 domes and 9 semi-domes in the mosque section. There are 26 domes in the portico section. The mosque has six minarets in total. Each of the four minarets is 76.2 meters high and has three balconies. The other two minarets, each 56.45 meters high, have two balconies.
