"Bashkortostan Artists Painting Exhibition" consisting f 40 paintings exclusively prepared by 4 artists from Bashkortostan, a federated Turkic state of Russia, for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts opened by the Minister of Labor and Social Security.

According to a press information feleased by the Near East University Press and Public Relations Directorate, the opening of the exhibition at the Near East University Faculty of Medicine Exhibition Hall was attended by the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu, Founding Rector of Near East University, Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, vice-rectors, deans, lecturers and art-lovers.

At the opening of the exhibition, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu and Minister of Labor and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu made a speech.

Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu: "We are hosting world-renowned artists who make great contributions to painting art..."
Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu stated that two exhibition of important Bashkortostan artists were so far opened within the scope of the collection of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.

Giving information about Bashkortostan, Prof. Dr. Sadikoglu told that Bashkortostan is a county of Bashkir settlements and the first autonomous state in the Russian Federation. Sadıkoğlu said that the artists of Bashkortostan are known worldwide. Dr. Sadıkoğlu added that both artists received the State Medal and made great contributions to the art of painting of the world.

Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu pointed out that Slavat Giliazedinov generally reflects the Turkish and Bashkir history and culture in his works. Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu said "The printing technique he developed is a patent. He makes his works using classical and also realistic traditional rulings. Vagız Shaikhetdinov makes works on portrait, landscape and still life. He has portrayed important science, business, art and statesmen of Russia and Bashkortostan. His exhibitions have been opened in many countries. We are delighted to host the exhibition of such important Turkic artists."


Minister Sucuoğlu: "Near East University Destroyed Embargoes with Education, Health and Art..."
Minister of Labor and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu said that the intensive art activities in Near East University are pleasing, and that the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is one of the most important centers in the world, especially in terms of exhibiting art works of the Turkic Republics.

Minister Sucuoğlu: "Obviously, there is an attempt to be unrivaled in this field. This is an important thing for North Cyprus. Art and culture are considered as an indicator of development. Despite the embargoes imposed by the world, the Near East University seems to be the only representative of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who has succeeded in puncturing embargoes in health and art."

Minister Sucuoğlu, stating that it is proud to create such a rich art centre especially representing the art culture of the Central Asian republics, voiced that he will participate in the art events whenever possible. In the continuation of his words Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu said that becoming an artist requires unique talents, and the level of artistic events in the country will increase, and wished all the success.

"Silver Key Honor Award” was presented...
After the speeches, Minister of Labor and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel presented the Silver Key Honor Award to Bashkortostan Artists Vagız Shaikhetdinov and Slavat Giliazedinov. Also, Bashkortostan artists Rida Shaikhetdinov and Azamat Giliazedinov received a Certificate of Appreciation.

"I am very delighted to bring my works together with you..."
Vagız Shaikhetdinov, who conveyed his feelings after the award presentation, said: "I am happy to bring my artistic feelings and works together with so many people. I hope that my work leaves a mark on all people. Before I came here, I've never met a great person like Suat Günsel. On the way that God gave us, we meet nice and good people. We realize that our lives are beautiful. Thank you for this art feast. I wish a healthy and happy life."

Slavat Giliazedinov said, "Thank you for inviting us to your country full of history. I also express gratitude for the atmosphere and attention you have provided us with for working. In this land we met friends and artists from different countries of the world and made friendships. In my works, you will see selections from nature. I wanted to bring the winter landscapes of Russia closer to you. Some of my works have been awarded. I am delighted that my works are included in the collection of Museum of Modern Arts. I would hereby like to thank Suat Günsel for his support and trust. I wish your dreams to be realized with the most sincere wishes."

The exhibition was visited...
After the award ceremony, the exhibition ribbon was cut and the artworks were visited. Bashkortostan Artists Painting Exhibition will be open to visitors between 08.00 and 16.00 hours until 15 June 2019.
