At Near East University, veterinarians of the future continue to talk about different aspects of their profession with the professionals they meet at “Career Days”

“Career Days” events initiated by the Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to guide its students in career selection and career planning have been continuing. In the first of the event series that brings together future veterinarians with experts, Dr. Eren Can Özfırat with a PhD in Surgery met with the students with his presentation on “Being a Veterinarian in England”.


In the second event, Regional Quality and Food Safety Leader of Pladis Global, one of the world’s largest snack companies, Dr. Derya Tan Ürse met with the students with the presentation “The Role of Veterinarians in World-Class Food Safety and Quality”. Career Days, which aim to give students a broader perspective on their professions, will continue with different speakers in the new term.


Professionals meet with veterinarians of the future!
The first event of the Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Career Days was moderated by Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Department of Internal Medicine faculty member Prof. Dr. Ebru Yalçın, Dr. It was held with the participation of Dr. Eren Can Özfırat. Making his presentation on “Being a Veterinarian in England”, Dr. Eren Can Özfırat discussed the role, duty and characteristics of the veterinary profession in England.

In the second event of “Career Days”, Pladis Global’s Regional Quality and Food Safety Leader Dr. Derya Tan Ürse discussed the topic “The Role of Veterinarians in World Standard Food Safety and Quality”. Pladis Global has the distinction of being a Turkish company ranked among the world’s top 10 companies in the field of chocolate and confectionery by Candy Industry, an internationally respected publishing company. At the event, the important role of veterinary medicine in terms of food safety and quality was emphasized and a different perspective was presented to the students.

Reminding that veterinary medicine has become a field that develops and changes day by day, Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Deniz Seyrek İntaş said, “With the Career Days events we organize, we aim to enable our students, who come from many countries of the world and meet at our faculty, to discover different areas of expertise by introducing them to the current developments in the sector.” Emphasizing that they see these events as an important platform that equips students with practical experiences in the sector as well as academic knowledge, Prof. Dr. Deniz Seyrek İntaş said, “I would like to thank Dr. Eren Can Özfırat and Dr. Derya Tan Ürse who shared their experiences with our students. In the coming days, our career day events will continue with the participation of new names.”
