At 12, She Inspired Europe with Her Art

Near East College student Gülce Özsaltık inspired with her works at the symposium organized by the European Cochlear Implant Users Association in Istanbul.
Near East College 7th-year student Gülce Özsaltık was highly appreciated with her paintings exhibited at the 15th EURO-CIU Symposium to which she was invited, and inspired the participants through her artworks. The symposium, organized at the Taşkışla Campus of the Faculty of Architecture of Istanbul Technical University with the theme of “Past, Present, Future: Hearing Journey with Cochlear Implants”, was organized by the European Cochlear Implant Users Association (EURO-CIU). It revealed the transformative power of cochlear implant technology, which changes the lives of individuals with hearing loss. In this important event of EURO-CIU, which represents cochlear implant users in Europe, Near East College student Gülce Özsaltık managed to be one of the young names that attracted attention with her talents.

Gülce Özsaltık, who has hearing loss since birth, embraced the healing power of art from a young age. Growing up in a campus environment surrounded by art on the Near East University Campus with the close attention of her family and teachers, Gülce Özsaltık created a colorful world for herself with her interest in painting and talent. Gülce Özsaltık, who has previously brought her signature works together with art lovers at her solo exhibitions in 2023 and 2024, was also highly appreciated at the symposium held in Istanbul with her paintings.
