Department of Radio, TV and Cinema of Faculty of Communication of Near East University hosted the Turkish Cypriot Actress Hazar Ergüçlü.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the event was held at Orange of Hall of NEU Faculty of Communication. Furthermore, it was stated that Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr Tamer Şanlıdağ attended the event where the actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, had a 2 hour talk with her fans.

The event drew a lot of interest and many university students got the opportunity to find out about the career path of the actress and certain issues she encountered along the way.

Ergüçlü: “Long hours of hard work is required…”
In her speech, the famous actress Hazar Ergüçlü provided details regarding her initial connection with the Nicosia Municipality Theatre and the changes in her career with the "Gölgeler ve Suretler" film directed by Derviş Zaim.

Ergüçlü emphasised that it was a difficult job to work I the cinema and TV series sector. Such that, it was necessary to work 6 days a week for 16 hours. In other words, she stressed how long hours of hard work is required. She sincerely answered the questions asked by the students who are planning to continue their lives with acting and gave advice.

She also referred to the difficulty of leaving Cyprus and living in Istanbul and mentioned that differences of social classes and quality of life can be seen more easily in Istanbul. She also informed her fans that she was determined to take part in a theatre project in the future progression of her career lives.

"It was a dream to work with Nuri Bilge Ceylan…"
Ergüçlü also provided information on her great opportunity involving her work with Nuri Bilge Ceylan and stressed that it was beyond her imagination to work with a director whom everyone envies so much. She also informed her fans about the phases which she went through while acting in "Ahlat Ağacı" which participated in Cannes Film Festival. She shared the process in which she acted and also what they went through during the Festival. It was pointed out that at the end of the talk, Ergüçlü, took a memory photograph with everyone at the event.

Career planning is carried out well…
Making a speech prior to the event, the Vice Dean of Department of Radio, TV and Cinema of Faculty of Communication of Near East University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap, stressed that Ergüçlü began to fly with her own wings at the ages of 16; causing her to take the first significant steps in her career life. Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap referred to Suat Günsel’s words, emphasising that young people will write their own story. She ended her words by stating that one of the best examples was Hazar Ergüçlü story of becoming a famous actor.
