Artist Kateryna Ocheredko supported the fight against coronavirus with her brush on behalf of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts

Due to the spread of the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) worldwide, artists continue to reflect their feelings against the pandemic and support struggle against the virus on canvas. According to the information provided by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, the artist Kateryna Ocheredko supported the fight against coronavirus for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art.

Artist Kateryna Ocheredko in her statement said that the fact that the coronavirus dragged people into quarantine is not an obstacle for artists and reflected this process on the canvas with her art.

Underlining the need to heed the calls of the authorities, the artist called # evdekal-stayhome on behalf of the art community for both our own health and public health.

The series, which has been created by reflecting the struggle against coronavirus every day by a different artist for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, will be continued to be shared with art lovers.

Who is Kateryna Ocheredko?
He was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1985. In 2010, she graduated from the Graphic Faculty of the Igor Sikorsky Kiev Polytechnic Institute. Artist Ocheredko, who is a member of the National Artists Association of Ukraine, was awarded a scholarship by the Kyiv municipality in 2012 for her personal creative contribution to the development of the city and for her important achievements in social life. In 2012, she entered the list of the best 150 young artists from Ukraine and around the world within the framework of the Social Networking Art competition held at the Art People gallery in San Francisco, USA. Since 2007, she has participated in more than 15 national and 25 international painting and graphic exhibitions and outdoor painting. Between 2008 and 2018, she drew more than 15 paintings for children and adult books published in Ukraine and abroad. In 2016, she worked as an animator of the world's first feature-length animated film, "Loving Vincent", about the life and death of Vincent Van Gogh. In 2018, the movie "Loving Vincent" was nominated for the Oscar and Golden Globe Awards.In 2018, she was presented an award for attending the engraving and sculpture exhibition titled "Engravings of the World" organized by the Greek Association of Alzheimer's Disease and Associated Diseases in cooperation with the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. In 2011, she won the "Green Wave" art competition held at the Artist Gallery in Kiev, Ukraine. In 2019, she held her personal art exhibition titled "Repin's places" in Kiev. She also organized her solo engraving exhibition titled "Different and similar". In 2015, she opened her solo engraving exhibition titled "Our World" in Minsk, Belarus. In 2011, she opened her engraving solo exhibition titled "My Kiev" at the Kiev Cultural Artists Museum. She has participated in international exhibitions held in Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Turkey, Egypt, Spain and participated in the international open-air exhibition in China. Her artworks are in museums and private collections of Ukraine, Egypt, Poland, Latvia, Spain, Italy, England, Germany, Australia, Egypt, USA and Greece.
