An invitation to common mind and production against the new type of coronavirus… Near East University will provide financial support to the nnovation studies to be developed in fighting against the COVID-19 outbreak

Near East University Technology Transfer Office and Technopark (NERITA) invites academia, public, industry, non-governmental organizations, young engineers and researchers to develop projects aiming to protect humanity against the new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic spread throughout the world and to increase the quality of life.

In the statement made by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, NERITA will provide financial support to the projects that will set up solutions for online technologies, health-related products and in the areas of logistics that will lead to adapting to new living conditions against the COVID-19 outbreak that has been causing significant changes in the world and threatens human life.

In this context, academics, public, industry, non-governmental organizations and engineers and researchers are invited to share their suggestions, ideas, solutions, and products with the Technology Transfer Office and Technopark (NERITA).

Stating that the new type of coronavirus has spread in 190 countries and that Cyprus is also exposed to this pandemic, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel stated that countries are trying to produce various remedies to stop the epidemic and now it is time to unite to be strong.

Expressing that the innovation processes have started to accelerate for a while in the world in order to develop technology and extend life, ensure and improve protection and quality of life with the cooperation of academia, public, industry, non-governmental organizations and the public, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said: “In this context, our Technology Transfer Office and Technopark (NERITA) is ready to support you, our stakeholders, to bring your suggestions, ideas, solutions and products to the next level.”

Stating that no country has been prepared against the new type of coronavirus, which affects the world and is not even a living organism, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel emphasized that the importance of creativity and innovation has emerged in order to sustain our life by adapting to the changing world order and living conditions with the pandemic. Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, “On the basis of creativity and innovation, efforts are being made to adapt to new conditions, and even if possible, guide the process. In the period following this epidemic, there will be an opportunity to create many new working areas and solution clusters in areas such as online technologies, health-related products and logistics. We invite all our people to give their opinions on everything, to work together, in other words, to be with us throughout the processes. I am in the hope to reach the nice days by producing with the common mind and increase our strength together."
