An Academic Group of 28 People from Humboldt University of Berlin paid a visit to the Near East University

Humboldt University of Berlin, which is one of the oldest and leading universities in Germany, continues to strengthen its collaboration with Near East University. A group of 28 academic people from Humboldt University of Berlin paid a visit to Near East University.

According to the press info released by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Near East University, Professor Rolf Schneider, faculty member of the Department of Biology of Humboldt University of Berlin, who has visited Near East University five times so far, has been in scientific collaboration with the Associate Professor Özge Özden Fuller, the Chairperson of the Department of Landscape Architecture, since 2012.

In his remarks, Professor Rolf Schneider stated that he had been retired then, but the collaboration between the institutions would be kept ongoing by Professor Thomas Janssen and Dipl. Biol. Dr. Anica Dreilich, faculty members of Humboldt University of Berlin.

Professor Rolf Schneider: "With outstanding breakthroughs in Academic Infrastructure and Superstructure as well as with significant applied Scientific Projects, Near East University has been growing and developing in a Fast Manner".
"I have been visiting Near East University regularly since 2013. This is my 5th visit. On each visit, we found ourselves either in a brand new building or listening to a new scientific project. We have been witnessing the rapid grow not only in academic infrastructure but also in developing applied scientific projects" said he.

The Academicians of the Humboldt University of Berlin visited NEU Herbarium and received information about the Flora of Cyprus
Faculty members from the Department of Biology of Humboldt University of Berlin with their graduate program students paid a visit to NEU Herbarium and they were provided information about the Flora in Cyprus by Professor Dr. Salih Gücel, the Director of the Institute of Environmental Sciences. Then, they visited the faculties within the body of Near East University.

Humboldt University of Berlin and Near East University organize joint seminars
On the same day, a joint seminar was held for the students receiving graduate education at the Department of Biology of Humboldt University of Berlin. Professor Rolf Schneider and Dr. Anika Dreilich delivered information about the research projects that they conduct particularly in the field of Biology and gave a seminar on "Humboldt University and Scientific Studies".

Prof. Dr. Özge Özden Fuller, the Chairperson of the Department of Landscape Architecture, also gave a seminar on "Biodiversity in Cyprus". Asst. Prof. Dr. Buket Asılsoy from the Faculty of Architecture, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wayne Fuller from the Faculty of Veterinary and Selin Laleci, research assistant at the Faculty of Architecture, participated in the seminar.

Expressing their satisfaction with NEU's hospitability, Professor Schneider and Biol. Biol. Dr. Anica Dreilich extend their appreciations to those who contributed to the organization.
