Near East University was ranked among the world’s best in 10 scientific fields in the URAP 2024–2025 World Field Rankings. Near East University, the university with the most scientific fields in Cyprus, is one of the two foundation universities with the most scientific fields in Turkey.
Near East University achieved great success in the 2024–2025 World Field Rankings, announced by the Ankara-based URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance) Laboratory. Ranked among the world’s best in a total of 10 scientific fields, Near East University is also one of the two foundation universities with the most fields among Turkish universities.
Near East University ranks among the world’s top universities in the fields of “Physical Sciences,” “Mathematical Sciences,” “Electrical and Electronic Engineering,” “Computer Sciences,” “Agriculture,” “Technology,” “Engineering,” “Chemical Sciences,” “Biological Sciences,” and “Medicine and Health Sciences,” demonstrating its versatile academic infrastructure.
Near East University is among the top 5 Turkish universities in five out of 10 fields!
URAP data also highlights Near East University’s strong position among Turkish universities in its fields. In all 10 fields, NEU ranked among the top five among Turkish universities. Among Turkish universities, Near East University ranked second in “Physical Sciences,” fourth in “Mathematical Sciences” and “Electrical and Electronic Engineering,” and among the top five in “Information and Computer Sciences” and “Agriculture.” Including Engineering and Technology, Near East University ranked among the top 10 Turkish universities in 7 of the 10 fields included in the study.
The URAP rankings are based on objective data such as articles, citations, and international collaborations obtained from the Clarivate Analytics InCites database, without using any surveys or subjective assessments.

The results we achieved in the URAP rankings are the concrete manifestation of this vision.”
Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel emphasized that Near East University’s rankings in 7 of the 10 fields included in URAP’s 2024–2025 World Field Rankings showed improvements compared to the previous year. Günsel said, “These results also demonstrate that our university has steadily increased its scientific production, publication quality, and international collaborations. I sincerely thank all our academic and administrative staff who have contributed to this significant achievement, for their dedicated work and the value they have contributed to our university’s scientific journey.”
