Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Cyprus paid a visit of courtesy to the Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İ. Günsel

Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Cyprus Hüseyin Aminian Tousi paid a visit to the Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İ. Günsel to discuss matters regarding education and cooperation possibilities to be conducted in the near future.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, during the visit Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Cyprus Hüseyin Aminian Tousi made a speech and stated that the NEU’s success in the fields of health, sciences and technology was quite admirable.

In addition to the above, Hüseyin Aminian Tousi pointed out that the Near East University has been continuously making achievements in R & D, innovation science, technology and art and that this was causing curiosity and interest among students. Furthermore, he stated that upon completion their higher education at Near East University, Iranian students returned back to their country with much developed competencies; therefore pointing out to how the university was raising skilled and qualified human resources. In this regard, Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Cyprus Hüseyin Aminian Tousi expressed gratitude to the Founding Rector of Near East University, Dr. Suat İ. Günsel.

Also making a speech, Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İ. Günsel emphasised that Islamic Republic of Iran was an important country. Despite the fact that there are certain difficulties encountered, adhering to the tradition of nation-state made the country progress safely into the future. Moreover, Dr. Günsel pointed out that cooperation with

Iranian universities was important and stressed his belief that cooperation in education led to contribution both regionally and internationally. Furthermore, he added that the Near East University was included in the entrance exam list of the Iranian Universities and thus, cooperation with outstanding Iranian universities was quite important.

During the visit, the Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İ. Günsel informed the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Cyprus Hüseyin Aminian Tousi, stating that making many publications (more than 1200 publications in 2018); all of which can be scanned in worldwide used databases Web of Science and Scopus, the Near East University Academicians positioned the Near East University among the first five foundation and state universities in Turkey. Dr. Suat İ. Günsel, emphasised that they were proud of their achievements and as a University, their developments and scientific publications drew the attention of many educational institutions. He ended his words by stating that they were an exemplary university with new-generation educational model.

Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and Cyprus Car Museum were visited…
Subsequent to the visit, Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Cyprus Hüseyin Aminian Tousi was taken to the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and Cyprus Car Museum and he was provided details regarding the exhibited items. Rather impressed, Hüseyin Aminian Tousi congratulated the Near East University for having such a vision and stressed that the attainments of the university made a positive contribution to the countries in the world in terms of establishing peace and harmony.
