Head of Strategic Studies Center (SAM) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Ambassador Dr. Hasan Ulusoy, visited the Near East University campus and made a series of examinations with the Turkish Embassy delegation accompanying him. Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ hosted Dr. Ulusoy who visited the Great Library, PCR Kit Production Laboratory and Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts on the Near East University campus and obtained information about the projects.

Visiting the TRNC’s domestic car GÜNSEL, the Head of the Strategic Research Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Ambassador Dr. Hasan Ulusoy took a test drive with the GÜNSEL B9 while getting information about the mass production works.

Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ welcome former Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Brussels, Dr. Hasan Ulusoy. Near East Institute Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çıraklı, Head of International Relations Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sait Akşit and faculty members accompanied Rector Şanlıdağ at the meeting through which information was given about the university and projects conducted.

Later, Hasan Ulusoy also visited the Great Library, PCR Kit Production Laboratory and Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. Visiting GÜNSEL Production Facilities, Dr. Ulusoy also carried out a test drive with the B9, the first model of TRNC’s domestic automobile brand.

Making a statement after his visit to the Near East University, Ambassador Dr. Hasan Ulusoy stated that they aim to carry out many studies for developing the institutional capacity of the TRNC and said, “We are in the process of carrying our work forward in every field with the TRNC. Our communication and cooperation will continue.”

Influenced by the Near East University Grand Library, Dr. Hasan Ulusoy, devoting a long time to the section where the collection of ancient artifacts is located, stated that the collection, which he defines as a “rich national heritage”, is of great value. Dr. Ulusoy also emphasized that GÜNSEL is a very successful project and said “We are always ready to support”.

Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, on the other hand, thanked Head of Strategic Studies Center (SAM) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Ambassador Dr. Hasan Ulusoy, for his visit and said, “As Near East University, we continue our work with the aim of carrying the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus further in science, technology and art. It gives us great confidence to see that our homeland Turkey is with us on this journey as well.”

Stating that Dr. Hasan Ulusoy’s visit to the Near East University is one of the best indicators of this, Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our esteemed Ambassador for his visit.”
