Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine continues to bring its students together with the world with the IVSA Exchange Program.
Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine students continue to meet with the world with the exchange programs of the International Veterinary Students’ Association (IVSA).
Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, which hosted students from Italy in Northern Cyprus with the exchange program organized with IVSA Bologna in December, is preparing to send its own students to Italy in the Spring Term. Similarly, Near East University, which will host students from IVSA Poland in Cyprus in March 2025, will send its students to Poland in May 2025.
Very important for academic and cultural development!
Students who came to Near East University within the scope of IVSA’s exchange program developed their knowledge and skills by participating in various academic workshops during the program. In the “Wildlife and Veterinary Medicine” workshop, they received theoretical and practical training on the difficulties veterinarians face in wildlife. In the “Experimental Animals and Ethics” workshop, they focused on ethical rules regarding the use and care processes of experimental animals. In the “Radiographic Imaging in Horses” workshop, they conducted practical studies on the anatomy of horses and radiographic imaging techniques. In the “Neutering Surgery” workshop, which was the last event of the program, they received training on surgical intervention techniques and gained important information about veterinary practice.
In addition to their academic and professional gains, the students also had the opportunity to discover the culture of Cyprus. The students, who visited important historical sites in Nicosia, Kyrenia and Famagusta and saw the cultural heritage of Cyprus up close, visited historical sites such as the Walled City, the Great Inn and the Gamblers’ Inn in Nicosia. Students visited Saint Hilarion Castle and Bellapais Monastery in Kyrenia, and visited historical sites such as Salamis Ruins, Varosha Bazaar and Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque in Famagusta.
Near East University students to make a return visit in May!
Near East University, which hosts students from many countries around the world on its campus, also brings its own students together with the world in the same context.
