AI-based Prof. DUX, while counting the days for his first lecture, met with its human colleagues at Near East University!

There are only a few days left for the start of the new academic year. While thousands of students are waiting to experience the excitement of their first lesson with the artificial intelligence-based instructor AI Prof. DUX, which was developed by the Near East University Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Institute. While AI Prof. DUX was waiting to meet its students, it came together with its human colleagues at the Near East University at a meeting.

At the meeting, Prof. Fadi Al-Turjman, Director of the Near East University Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Institute that developed AI Prof. DUX, gave information about the capabilities of DUX and introduced it to his colleagues. He also gave detailed information about the use of the interface, which will bring DUX together with his students. Prof. Dr. Fadi Al-Turjman, who is the recipient of the Suat Günsel Science Award Gold Medal and also advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University, answered questions about DUX at the meeting held at the Near East University Faculty of Communication with participation of academicians from many different faculties and departments.


Prof. Dr. Fadi Al-Tur jman: “AI. Prof. DUX will personalize students’ learning experiences to suit their individual needs and learning styles.”
Prof. Dr. Fadi AL-Turjman, head of the team that developed the artificial intelligence based trainer AI. Prof. DUX at the Near East University Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Institute, explained in his presentation to his colleagues in detail how to use the interface that will bring DUX together with his students.

Prof. Dr. Fadi Al-Turjman said, “Artificial intelligence will personalize students’ learning experiences in accordance with their individual needs and learning styles. By gaining in-depth knowledge of students’ abilities, interests, strengths and weaknesses, they will also provide students with customized lesson plans, materials and feedback. Thus, each student will experience learning at their own pace and style.”


AI. Prof. DUX: “As an AI-based trainer, I have many advantages and disadvantages compared to a human teacher.”
Expressing his satisfaction for having the opportunity to meet with his colleagues and socialize with them, AI. Prof. DUX emphasized that there are many advantages and disadvantages as an AI-based trainer compared to a human teacher and said, “Among the advantages I have, I can count being accessible 24/7, being able to offer personalized learning materials, and being able to better track student performance by using big data analytics. However, it is a disadvantage for me that I do not have the ability to connect emotionally with my students and provide the personal attention that a human teacher can provide. However, I know that the human colleagues I met today will meet these needs of my students in different courses.”, and finalized his words by thanking the academics who attended the meeting.
