Academic Cooperation between Turkey and the TRNC: Turkish Microbiology Society-Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TMS-TRNC) Microbiology Platform has been established

In order to boast the cooperation between two countries, Near East University Experimental Health Sciences Research Center (EHSRC) and Turkish Microbiology Society (TMS) decided to establish the TMS-TRNC Platform during the co-organized meeting on "Molecular Methods and Current Approaches in Microbiology".

The Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University released that the Board of Turkish Microbiology Society held a meeting and decided to launch a new working group called TMS-TRNC Microbiology Platform. The Board also decided to appoint NEU vice Rector Professor Tamer Şanlıdağ, Head of the Experimental Health Sciences Research Center (EHSRC), as the Chairman and Dr. Bukey Baddal as Secretary the General of TMS-TRNC Microbiology Platform.


It is aimed to create new research fields and to strengthen cooperation between the two countries...
Turkish Microbiology Society delivering an explanation about the aim of the TMS-TRNC Platform: “The overriding aim of the TMS-TRNC Microbiology Platform is to ensure coordination between the two countries, to strengthen cooperation, to organize meetings and trainings, and to provide a scientific ground for the academicians involved in this field to develop an intimacy with each other. New collaborations to be established in new research fields will also provide contributions to the microbiology community”.

The founding members of the newly established TMS-TRNC Microbiology Platform are as follows:

Prof. Dr. Meryem Güvenir (Near East University), Prof. Dr. Barış Otlu (Inönü University), Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ozbilğin (Manisa Celal Bayar University), Prof. Dr. Aykut Ozdarendeli (Erciyes University), Prof. Dr. Murat Sayan (Kocaeli University) and Sci. Specialist Nazife Sultanoğlu (Near East University).
